London Pub Hosts Wes Anderson Pop-Up

by Ivy

To celebrate the May 23 premiere of a new Wes Anderson-style film, Bob Bob Ricard’s iconic Red Room has undergone a cinematic transformation. The takeover, which began the same day as the film’s release, will run until June 22, offering guests a unique, themed bar experience.

A Scene Straight Out of the Movie

The venue has been reimagined as Marseille Bob’s, the fictional bar featured in the film. The makeover includes Anderson-esque design touches such as pink-bordered placemats, bespoke coasters, and custom menus that highlight the film’s creative team. A glowing neon sign of the Marseille Bob’s logo now lights up the bar and the stairwell leading to the Red Room.

Staff in Character

Staff are fully immersed in the experience too. Dressed in white blazers, red carnations, and fez hats, their outfits directly mirror those worn by characters in the film, enhancing the immersive atmosphere.

Four Film-Inspired Cocktails

The menu features four original cocktails, each themed around the movie:

  • The Virgin Novitiate – A champagne cocktail combining Hennessy VS Cognac with cherry liqueur.

  • Tycoon on the Rocks – A playful margarita that changes color, served from a dropper bottle.

  • The Grenade – A white Negroni inspired by a memorable line in the film: “Would you like a grenade?”

  • The Norwegian Mentor – A non-alcoholic blend of Thomson & Scott alcohol-free “wine”, Tanqueray 0.0%, and a maraschino cherry.

Curated Bar Snacks

To complement the drinks, guests can enjoy curated bar snacks, including giant salty pretzels and tins of smoked Cantabrian anchovies served with butter and brown bread.
