Ocean Beach Brewing emerges from the quintessential craft beer origin story—a small operation launched by three friends united by their passion for brewing and a commitment to sustainability. The brewery operates as a production-only facility, with a focus on closed-loop brewing practices that minimize waste and environmental impact.

The brewery’s core range includes its flagship ‘Denmark Draft,’ alongside a hazy pale ale, a mid-strength lager, and an Australian-style pale ale characterized by assertive hop notes. Although the main brewing facility is not open to the public on a regular basis, Ocean Beach Brewing occasionally opens its Tasting Shed, with operating hours shared via social media. The brewery’s beers are widely available on tap and in cans throughout the Great Southern region, including at the recently refurbished Denmark Hotel and Denmark Drops Bottleshop, with limited distribution extending into other parts of Western Australia.

Further south, Dune Beer Co. has established itself as Albany’s latest brewery, situated near the picturesque Emu Point Beach. The location offers both scenic coastal views and a welcoming venue that caters to families and beachgoers alike.

Designed with inclusivity in mind, Dune Beer Co. features expansive green lawns suitable for picnic-style dining and casual recreation, alongside a large, nature-themed playground set against a backdrop of coastal dunes. The kitchen menu includes a range of family-friendly dishes, such as cheeseburgers, crumbed whiting sandwiches, sticky date pudding, and kid-sized fish and chips.

At the heart of Dune Beer Co.’s offering is its beer selection, which spans a wide variety of tastes. Core brews include the popular Emu Point Lager, a zesty passionfruit sour, and a mid-strength ale. The brewery also releases seasonal beers on a rotating basis, reflecting both creativity and a responsive brewing schedule.

With the addition of these two new breweries, the Great Southern region continues to grow as a destination for craft beer enthusiasts and casual visitors alike, blending quality brewing with a strong sense of place and community.
