San Diego’s celebrated craft beer scene will take center stage this summer as the San Diego Brewers Guild hosts the fourth annual SD Beer Weekend from June 27 to June 29. Designed as a smaller-scale lead-in to the city’s popular fall event, San Diego Beer Week, this summer celebration aims to spotlight the region’s vibrant brewing community through a series of countywide events.
First launched in 2022 to commemorate the Brewers Guild’s 25th anniversary, SD Beer Weekend offers a preview of the larger festivities later in the year. While the entire weekend will feature special promotions and events at individual breweries throughout San Diego County, the highlight will be the Rhythm & Brews Festival, set for Saturday, June 28, in Downtown Vista.
“This is a great way to set the stage for Fourth of July week,” said Brewers Guild Executive Director Erik Fowler. “Craft beer, music, and sunshine are all you need to celebrate an industry that holds deep meaning for communities across San Diego. While Rhythm & Brews is our marquee event, we encourage everyone to support their favorite brewery—or explore new ones.”
The Rhythm & Brews Festival will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the corner of Citrus Avenue and Broadway. Attendees must be at least 21 years old. More than 30 local independent breweries will participate, offering unlimited beer samples. Musical performances will include local bands Soulseller and LOOM, with DJ Goldie also featured.
Early bird tickets are available through May 28 for $65, increasing to $75 on May 29. VIP tickets, which include early access at noon for exclusive pours, are priced at $80 until May 28 and $90 thereafter.
Participating breweries include Abnormal Beer Co., Belching Beaver Brewery, Burgeon Beer Company, Fall Brewing Company, Pure Project, Craft Coast Beer & Tacos, and Thorn Brewing Co. Confirmed food vendors are 7 Siblings, Meche’s Fish Tacos, and Ms. Potato Food Truck.
