Woofstock Festival Returns to Kennebunk, Celebrating Dogs, Community, and Local Flavor

by Kaia

Now in its sixth year, Woofstock has grown into Southern Maine’s premier family- and dog-friendly food and beer festival. Hosted annually by the Animal Welfare Society (AWS), the event offers a vibrant mix of live music, food trucks, local craft breweries, and a wide range of activities tailored for all ages and breeds—both human and canine.

Admission to Woofstock is free, and attendees can expect a full afternoon of entertainment, including dog agility courses, a bounce house, games, children’s activities, artisan and craft vendors, giveaways, and more. The festival is held rain or shine on the last Saturday of July at AWS’ campus at 46 Holland Road in Kennebunk.

Beyond the festivities, Woofstock serves a vital purpose as the organization’s annual fundraiser. The event supports AWS’ ongoing mission to care for lost and homeless pets, while also providing essential community services aimed at keeping animals with their families during times of hardship. A central component of these efforts is the Community Veterinary Clinic, which offers affordable medical care to both shelter residents and local pets in need.

Proceeds from Woofstock—generated through sponsorships and on-site donations—directly fund these services, promoting the health and wellbeing of animals across the region.
