This year’s competition recognized 140 medalists, with standout honors awarded to Wente Family Vineyards’ 2021 Limited Release Cabernet Franc as Best Red Wine and Las Positas Vineyards’ 2024 Estate Albariño as Best White. The judging process involved a panel of 13 seasoned wine professionals—including certified sommeliers and wine educators—who evaluated the entries for complexity, balance, typicity, and flawlessness, according to LVWC representatives.

Originally hosted by the Tri-Valley Conservancy (TVC) for its first 15 years, the stewardship of Uncorked transitioned to the Livermore Valley Wine Community this year. The change was made to better align with each organization’s mission, according to Brandi Lombardi, executive director of the Wine Community.

“In 2025, TVC passed the torch of hosting the Uncorked event to the LVWC. It was determined that hosting the wine competition and consumer event aligned more closely with the mission and vision of the LVWC, allowing TVC to increase their primary focus on conservation in the Valley,” Lombardi said in a statement to Livermore Vine.

She emphasized that the two organizations maintain a strong partnership. “The LVWC and the TVC have a longstanding vibrant relationship and will continue to work together to ensure the sustainability of our beautiful, award-winning wine region,” she added.

The public tasting event is scheduled for Saturday, May 31, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Murrieta’s Well. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample the competition’s winning wines in a setting that includes both cellar barrels and an expansive outdoor patio.

Preceding the main celebration, an educational seminar will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Led by LVWC experts, the session will delve into Livermore Valley’s Signature Varietals—recently designated as Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc—alongside the region’s heritage wine offerings.

Organizers expect the event to attract both local wine lovers and regional connoisseurs eager to experience the depth and quality of Livermore Valley’s winemaking tradition.
