BALTIMORE — The Maryland Zoo’s largest annual fundraiser, Brew at the Zoo, will return over Memorial Day Weekend, running from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on May 24 and 25. Presented by M&T Bank, the event is recognized as Baltimore’s largest craft beer festival.
The festival will feature unlimited tastings of more than 80 craft beers, as well as selections of wine and hard seltzer. In addition to beverage sampling, attendees can enjoy live music, offerings from local food vendors, and full-day access to the zoo’s exhibits.
In line with the zoo’s sustainability initiatives, each guest will receive a stainless steel souvenir tasting cup to help eliminate single-use plastics. Organizers have also committed to ensuring 100% of beer and seltzer packaging is either reused, recycled, or composted.
Guests can bypass entry lines by donating an old cell phone or small electronic device, or by contributing $20 to the zoo. These donations support efforts to curb the demand for minerals sourced through environmentally damaging mining practices in Africa’s Congo Basin — a region critical to global biodiversity.
Proceeds from the event will directly support the Maryland Zoo’s animal care and wildlife conservation programs.
Featured brewers include regional favorites such as The Brewer’s Art, Charm City Meadworks, DuClaw Brewing, Key Brewing, Monument City Brewing, and Raven Beer.
This year, the event will once again integrate drink stations throughout the zoo, offering unique pairings such as watermelon seltzer served during the elephant watermelon smash.
Discounted admission is available for designated drivers and guests under 21.
