Honolulu Brewery moved its production from Kaka‘ako to a larger facility in Kalihi. The new site at 1632 Hart Street features a spacious industrial-style taproom. It is open Thursday through Saturday, noon to 6 p.m., and hosts rotating food trucks.
Launch of “Kahuku Ka‘upu” Conservation Beer
To mark American Craft Beer Week, the brewery released Kahuku Ka‘upu, a West Coast-style Citrus IPA. Proceeds will support the James Campbell Wildlife Refuge. The beer raises awareness for the black-footed albatross.
“Bird Is the Word” Event Scheduled May 24
Honolulu Brewery will celebrate the new ale with a “Bird Is the Word” launch party on Friday, May 24. The event takes place at the Kalihi taproom. Local catering business Taste of Brazil will serve classic Brazilian dishes.
Community-Focused, Eco-Friendly Brews
Owner Geoffrey Seideman said the brewery brews seasonal, eco-friendly beers to back local causes. Their recipes often feature tropical fruits, honey, and coffee. Seideman emphasized the importance of community engagement and environmental stewardship.
