Orange Bike Brewing, a gluten-free brewery based in East Bayside, secured a silver medal at the 2025 World Beer Cup, one of the most prestigious international brewing competitions, often referred to as “the Olympics of beer.”
The Maine brewery was recognized in the gluten-free category for its winter lager, marking a significant achievement as the only brewery in the state and one of just six in New England to receive a medal at this year’s event.
The 2025 World Beer Cup attracted 8,375 beer entries from 1,761 breweries across 49 countries. Winners were announced during the awards ceremony held on May 1 in Indianapolis.
This is not the first time Orange Bike has received national recognition. In 2024, the brewery earned a silver medal for its Oktoberfest and a bronze for its flagship pilsner in the gluten-free category at the Great American Beer Festival.
“We are humbled and thrilled to be recognized again on a global stage,” said founder and CEO Tom Ruff in a statement. “Our goal has always been to craft world-class beer that just happens to be gluten-free, and this honor further validates our vision and execution.”
Orange Bike Brewing operates on Diamond Street in Portland’s East Bayside neighborhood and continues to gain acclaim for its innovative approach to gluten-free brewing.
