Carson City, Nev. — The annual Capital City Brewfest is set to return to downtown Carson City on Saturday, May 31, bringing a blend of craft beverages, food truck fare, games, and music to Curry Street and McFadden Plaza.
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Carson City, the popular event will feature more than 20 brewers and beverage vendors, alongside four food trucks offering a variety of cuisine. The festivities run from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., transforming the downtown area into a vibrant hub of entertainment and community engagement.
“This event is all about bringing something fun to Carson City,” said Peter Fishburn, president of the Rotary Club, which organizes the gathering each year. Proceeds support the club’s community initiatives, including scholarships, youth leadership programs, and other charitable services.
Mayor Lori Bagwell, also a Rotary member, described the event as a highlight of the city’s community calendar, taking place at the heart of downtown just steps from Nevada’s state government buildings.
Attendees can expect live music curated by a disc jockey spinning both classic hits and contemporary tunes. Entertainment options include a photo booth, raffle drawings with prizes such as golf equipment and beverage bundles, and the ever-popular cornhole toss.
This year’s cornhole competition offers both casual warm-up games and a formal contest, with a $10 entry fee for a shot at a $500 cash prize awarded to the top competitor.
Tickets for the Brewfest are available in advance for $35 through local Rotarians or $40 online at capitalcitybrewfest. Tickets will also be available at the gate on the day of the event for $45.
Rotarians will be present throughout the day, assisting with event operations and participating in the festivities, wearing casual attire representing their international service organization.
The Brewfest remains a staple of Carson City’s community calendar, blending local culture, charitable giving, and downtown vibrancy in a single afternoon of spirited celebration.
