A Decade of Craftsmanship in Every Drop

This whisky celebrates Torabhaig’s journey since its first release a decade ago. It is made from Concerto and Laureate malted barley and is heavily peated at over 78 parts per million (PPM) phenols. The spirit matured in a combination of old ex-Bourbon barrels and new American oak, resulting in a final peat level of 14.5 PPM.

Flavor Profile and Tasting Notes

Bottled at 46% ABV, Voice of Slater offers a complex bouquet. Aromas include fresh orange, apricot, popcorn, and seaweed. Subtle hints of pipe tobacco, honey, vanilla, and boiled sugar add depth. The palate reveals oak spice, sweet campfire smoke, and a touch of white pepper, creating a balanced and rich tasting experience.

Master Distiller’s Insight

Neil MacLeod Mathieson, Torabhaig’s Master Distiller, shared his thoughts:
“We continue our journey of exploring 10-year-old whiskies. For Voice of Slater, we returned to the classic bourbon cask character. We enhanced it with a refreshing spice note from new American oak, without losing the elegance and refinement our fans expect. This whisky combines oak spice, citrus, and savory notes of the sea, with a newfound waxiness as it matures. Each wave of flavor is a journey in itself.”

Availability and Pricing

The Voice of Slater release is limited to 45,000 bottles worldwide. Of these, 7,000 bottles will be available in the UK. The whisky is now on sale globally, with a recommended retail price of £57 (approximately $76).

Torabhaig’s Heritage Series Overview

Founded by Mossburn Distillers in 2017, Torabhaig launched its first single malt whisky in February 2021. The Heritage Series began with the release of Allt Gleann in August 2021. Subsequent editions include the Allt Gleann Batch Strength launched in 2023 and last year’s sherry cask-influenced Cnoc Na Mòine.
