Aldi Launches Search for Scotland’s Ultimate Beer Enthusiast
Aldi Scotland has announced a nationwide hunt to crown the country’s biggest beer lover, expanding on its popular “Best Home Bar” competition. The annual contest, now in its third year, invites enthusiasts to showcase their passion for beer—whether through an impressive craft beer collection, in-depth knowledge of brews, or a meticulously curated home bar setup. The grand prize? A year’s supply of free beer from Aldi’s premium Scottish range.
The initiative comes as Aldi gears up for its busiest beer sales period, with data showing a 24% spike in beer purchases last April–May, driven by Scotland’s rare sunny spells. Entrants are asked to submit photos or videos demonstrating their beer devotion to [email protected] by June 6. The winner, announced on June 27, will enjoy 12 months of free craft beers from Aldi’s summer lineup, featuring top Scottish breweries like William Bros, Fierce Beer, and Loch Lomond Brewery. The selection includes crisp lagers, hoppy IPAs, and low-alcohol options, all offered at Aldi’s signature affordable prices.
“Scottish beer lovers never cease to amaze us with their creativity and passion,” said Graham Nicolson, Aldi Scotland’s Group Buying Director. “While we’ve seen some incredible home bars over the years, this year we’re opening the floor to anyone who lives and breathes beer. With longer days and warmer weather, May and June are our busiest beer months after Christmas, and we’ve curated an exceptional range to celebrate. Many of our beers are locally brewed, spotlighting Scotland’s thriving brewing scene and supporting local producers.”
The competition reflects Aldi’s commitment to championing Scottish craftsmanship while offering consumers quality beers at accessible prices. Whether showcasing a personal brewery nook or sharing trivia about Scotland’s brewing heritage, participants are encouraged to highlight their unique connection to beer. “It’s not just about the bar—it’s about the story behind the love of beer,” added Nicolson.
With a deadline fast approaching, beer enthusiasts across Scotland are urged to raise a glass to their passion and enter for a chance to be named Scotland’s ultimate beer lover.
