Dobel Tequila has launched the third U.S. edition of its Dobel Atelier series, titled Animales Endémicos. The collection features six unique, hand-painted bottles that celebrate Mexico’s culture and craftsmanship.
A Tribute to Mexican Heritage and Craft
The Dobel Atelier series is designed as a “collectible celebration of culture, craft and ultra-premium tequila.” Through each release, the brand aims to tell Mexico’s story using both art and spirits. Juan Dobel, the company’s founder, highlighted the brand’s deep roots: “At Dobel, we are rooted in 11 generations of tequila-making heritage, and the Atelier series embodies our commitment to redefining aged tequila.” He added that this extra-aged bottling “showcases the rich heritage of our tequila and embodies Mexican artistry from the inside out.”
Extra-Vintage Tequila with Rich, Complex Flavors
This limited-edition tequila has been aged for over three years in new American and European oak barrels. The aging process yields a spirit with:
Aromas: Dried fruits, pineapple, butter, apple, prunes, and cinnamon
Palate: Charred oak, toasted almonds, and a mix of warm spices
Hand-Painted Bottles Inspired by Endemic Animals
Each bottle in the Animales Endémicos series is hand-painted by Oaxacan artisans. They employ a traditional alebrije-painting technique, traditionally used to decorate small fantasy-creature figurines. The colorful bottles feature intricate polka-dot patterns and depict one of six Mexican native animals:

Availability and Pricing
The Animales Endémicos collection is now available in limited quantities across the United States and through Dobel’s official website. The suggested retail price for each bottle is $250.
