The whiskey has aromas of oak and almonds, with hints of vanilla, toasted oak and toffee on the palate.

“At Buffalo Trace, we believe there are no shortcuts to making great whiskey – there’s no substitute for time spent in oak barrels,” said Andrew Duncan, Global Brand Director, Buffalo Trace Distillery. “With Eagle Rare, we’re always striving for excellence, never settling, and constantly experimenting to make even better tasting aged bourbons.”

“With the introduction of Kentucky Straight Bourbon, we set a higher standard for whiskeys around the world; now, Eagle Rare pushes the boundaries of aging to show just how great bourbon can be. ”

Eagle Rare 12 Year Old will be available at select retailers, bars and restaurants across the U.S. beginning in June 2025 for a suggested retail price of $49.99 for a 750 ml bottle.

The release will debut in international markets in fall 2025.

The new release joins the brand’s bourbon collection, which includes the Original 10 Year Old, Double Eagle Rare, Eagle Rare 25 Year Old and Eagle Rare 17 Year Old, the latter of which is an annual limited edition from the Buffalo Trace Vintage Series.
