Yuengling, America’s oldest brewery, announced plans to begin selling its beer in select Michigan cities starting in August. The limited launch will include Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing, and nearby areas.
The Pottsville, Pennsylvania-based brewery, established in 1829, made the announcement Monday via social media, acknowledging growing consumer demand across the state.
“You’ve been asking. You’ve been tagging. Even road-tripping across state lines. Now, we’re coming to you,” the company stated in its post. “To the rest of Michigan — we see you, we hear you. We’re just getting started.”
This move marks a significant step in Yuengling’s gradual national expansion. The company previously hinted at entering the Michigan market nearly eight years ago, alongside potential plans for Kentucky, Arkansas, and Texas. Since then, Yuengling has entered three new states before setting its sights on Michigan. The brewery currently operates three production facilities.
The upcoming rollout signals the company’s intention to continue broadening its footprint beyond its traditional stronghold in the eastern United States.
