BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Northwest Arkansas has welcomed its first dedicated gluten-free brewery, offering a new destination for beer lovers with dietary restrictions. Stoic Brews Alternative has opened its doors in downtown Bentonville, aiming to fill a gap in the region’s robust craft beer culture.
The new taproom, located at 410 SW A St. Suite 8, occupies the former site of Pedaler’s Pub and serves as a welcoming space for patrons seeking a gluten-free environment. In contrast to traditional breweries, every product on offer at Stoic Brews is entirely gluten-free — a critical consideration for individuals with celiac disease or gluten intolerance, who are typically excluded from mainstream beer offerings.
Among the standout selections are the Wise Wit Belgian, priced at $8.50, and the Moral Compass lager at $7.50. Both are described as smooth, approachable options. Complementing the beverage menu is a lineup of pub fare, including gluten-free pizza, reinforcing the brewery’s commitment to maintaining a fully gluten-free establishment. Outside food is prohibited in order to safeguard against cross-contamination.
The interior of the taproom has been reimagined to foster a communal, laid-back atmosphere in the heart of Bentonville, further enhancing its appeal as a downtown gathering spot.
While gluten-free beers may present a slightly different flavor profile compared to traditional brews, early reviews suggest the difference is minimal — and worthwhile for fostering a more inclusive social experience.
Stoic Brews Alternative is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
