The Cambridge Beer Festival has once again transformed Jesus Green into a vibrant hub of brewing excellence, attracting beer enthusiasts from across the UK. Running for a week, the annual event showcases over 180 unique beers sourced from independent breweries, with offerings spanning from North Yorkshire to local producers in Waterbeach and Peterborough.
This year’s festival embraces a thematic celebration of the 50th anniversary of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Attendees are welcomed with commemorative glassware and themed t-shirts available at the entrance of the main tent, adding a touch of nostalgia to the tasting experience.
In addition to its extensive beer list—ranging from sweet, fruity ales to robust, chocolate-infused stouts—the festival also caters to a diverse palate with selections of mead, wine, cider, and a limited array of soft drinks.
Culinary offerings at the festival are equally varied, with numerous food trucks serving an array of international and traditional dishes including pizza, paella, Mexican cuisine, and kebabs. For a more classic pairing, the festival features its own cheese counter, offering a curated selection of cheeses specifically chosen to complement the drinks. For £12, visitors can select any three cheeses accompanied by a generous slice of bread.
The cheese counter also boasts fresh pastries such as pork pies, quiches, and sausage rolls, served with chutneys and pickles. Knowledgeable volunteers are stationed nearby to assist guests in selecting ideal cheese and beer pairings.
With several days remaining, there is still an opportunity to visit this year’s festival. Organizers have confirmed the event’s return in 2026, encouraging early planning for those unable to attend this year’s festivities.
