As temperatures rise, Boston’s outdoor beer gardens are once again drawing crowds with local brews, scenic backdrops, and seasonal fare. From the banks of the Charles River to bustling downtown plazas, these pop-up venues offer a range of atmospheres and craft beverages for summer enjoyment.
Aeronaut Allston launched its seasonal run on May 16 and will operate through June 28. The beer garden is open Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Cisco Brewers Seaport, often dubbed Boston’s “parking lot beer garden,” is set to return in full after Memorial Day. Hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., Friday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., and weekends from noon to 11 p.m.
At City Hall Plaza, Distraction Brewing and Democracy Brewing are collaborating to operate the beer garden. Hours run Monday through Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from noon to 9 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.
Dockside Beer Garden, located near the New England Aquarium, is back with a full menu including clam chowder, corn dogs, and fish tacos, alongside local beers. It is open daily from noon to 6 p.m.
In Harvard Square, the One Reason Garden Bar at the Charles Hotel has reopened for the season. Weather permitting, it operates Wednesday to Friday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from noon to 9 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
Night Shift Brewing has relaunched its trio of Boston-area beer gardens, offering a selection of beers, hard seltzers, wines, and nonalcoholic options.
- Night Shift Esplanade, situated by the Hatch Shell, is open Wednesday to Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.
- Night Shift Allston, located at Herter Park, operates Thursday and Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.
- The Greenway location, near South Station, is open Tuesday to Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.
Starting Friday, Samuel Adams’ downtown taproom will transition to its summer hours: Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The Anchor, nestled in the Charlestown Navy Yard, has resumed operations. It is open Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., and weekends from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Trillium Garden on the Greenway returns with food trucks offering tacos and Latin-inspired cuisine. Hours are Tuesday to Thursday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. Trillium also maintains outdoor seasonal locations in Fenway at Time Out Market and in Fort Point, both open daily.
Finally, UnCommon Corner, the Boston Common beer garden operated by Harpoon Brewery in collaboration with Emerson College, reopened this month. The venue features food from El Jefe’s Taqueria and operates Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 9 p.m., weather permitting.
With a variety of locations, brews, and menus, Boston’s beer gardens are poised to be a summer staple once again.
