The GlenDronach 21 Year Old single malt whisky marks a fresh chapter for the storied distillery, being the first in its super-premium core range to feature an updated visual identity since the brand’s comprehensive revamp.
A New Visual Identity for a Classic Expression
Following Brown-Forman’s acquisition of GlenDronach in 2016, the 2024 re-launch introduces refreshed packaging and a creative campaign helmed by renowned Scottish photographer and director Rankin. This marks the brand’s first design overhaul for the 21 Year Old expression, signaling a new era while honoring its heritage.
Importantly, the whisky’s liquid composition remains unchanged. The single malt is aged exclusively in oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks sourced from Andalucia, Spain, delivering the rich character fans expect.
Tasting Notes and Craftsmanship
Master blender Rachel Barrie describes the 21 Year Old as “an elegant and sublime expression, renowned for its exceptional balance and depth.” The long maturation in sherry casks imparts a harmonious blend of richness and refinement.
Nose: Ripe autumn fruits, blackberries, red plums, and a touch of candied orange
Palate: Layers of delicate sherry, bitter chocolate sauce, nutmeg, and ginger-roasted Victoria plum pudding
Finish: Long and persistent, with indulgent richness
The whisky has an alcohol content of 48% ABV and features a natural color.
