The Wine Institute is set to revive California Wine Month (CWM) in Hong Kong for its seventh consecutive year, offering an engaging series of events celebrating the region’s wines throughout the summer. Emphasizing California’s signature ‘Golden State of Mind’—a philosophy that highlights sustainability, innovation, optimism, and bold winemaking—the initiative seeks to deepen local appreciation of the state’s diverse wine culture.
Central to this year’s program is the flagship event, Sips of Summer, scheduled for June 21 and 22 at Soho House Hong Kong. The two-day festival will feature more than 50 varieties of California wines, including exclusive bottles imported directly from the state’s top sustainable vineyards, many of which have never before been available in Hong Kong. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample and purchase these selections, alongside participating in guided tasting sessions led by an expert panel comprising local sommeliers, wine educators, and brand ambassadors. These sessions aim to enhance understanding of each wine’s distinctive qualities and the unique terroirs that shape them.
A notable highlight of Sips of Summer is the ‘Wines on a Mission’ mini-exhibition and video theatre, spotlighting California’s commitment to sustainable viticulture. The presentation focuses on four critical pillars of environmental stewardship: water management, soil health, energy efficiency, and community engagement, underscoring the region’s leadership in eco-friendly wine production. Complementing the wine experience, live performances by local musician OJ Reambillo will provide a lively soundtrack throughout the event.
Early-bird tickets, priced at HK$180, include entry, a California Wine Month branded wine glass, a waterproof pouch, and two HK$50 cash vouchers redeemable on purchases exceeding HK$250. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.
Beyond Sips of Summer, California Wine Month will feature an array of pop-up workshops, retail promotions, and tasting events across prominent venues such as city’super, Watson’s Wine, and Enoteca, among others, extending the celebration of California wines throughout the summer season.
