With the Triangle region boasting a dynamic and growing bar scene, The News & Observer is launching a community-driven search to find the area’s best cocktail bar. From elevated rooftop lounges to intimate neighborhood hideaways, residents across Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Apex, Chapel Hill, and nearby towns are invited to nominate their favorite spots to enjoy a well-crafted drink.
Following successful reader-driven competitions to identify the best tacos and chocolate chip cookies, the publication is turning its attention to cocktails. Community members can submit nominations via an online form. Those with more than one favorite are encouraged to refresh the page and nominate multiple establishments.
The competition will unfold over six rounds of voting:
- Round One (Top 25): Monday, June 9 at 2 p.m. to Wednesday, June 11 at 2 p.m.
- Round Two (Top 12): Wednesday, June 11 at 2 p.m. to Friday, June 13 at 2 p.m.
