More than 20 Cypriot wine producers will come together this Saturday at Eleftheria Square in Nicosia for a wine-tasting event that aims to promote local viticulture while raising funds for a charitable cause.
Organised by the Lions Club Nicosia Within the Walls in collaboration with OinoArt and co-hosted by the Nicosia Municipality, the event is marking its 10th edition with a dual purpose: supporting Cypriot winemakers and contributing to the welfare of children at Agios Kasianos Elementary School in old Nicosia.
The annual gathering has grown to become a cultural highlight in the capital, drawing attention not only to the island’s rich winemaking tradition but also to the historical heart of the city. By bringing residents and visitors into the city within the walls, organisers hope to boost tourism and local engagement with Nicosia’s heritage.
Entry to the event is free. Guests can participate in the wine tasting by purchasing a commemorative wine glass for €5, which grants access to samples from a wide selection of local wines. The event will also feature food offerings and live music, creating a festive atmosphere from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The initiative underscores the community’s commitment to preserving Cypriot wine culture while fostering social responsibility through education-focused fundraising.
