Brother Justus Whiskey Co. is set to release a new line of 100% malted barley whiskeys in collaboration with the Commanders Chapter of the 34th Infantry Division Association. This Minnesota-based nonprofit, founded in 1947 by World War II veterans, is dedicated to preserving the legacy and supporting the members of the famed Red Bull Division.
Honoring Heritage and Service in Every Bottle
Founder and CEO Phil Steger emphasized the brand’s commitment: “Honor is part of our DNA—we honor our land and heritage with every bottle of whiskey we produce; it’s a true honor to further honor active and retired service members with our legendary whiskey.”
The inaugural release, Commander’s Own, is the first of two American whiskeys planned for 2025 and will be available in late May. Bottled at 43% ABV, this expression is priced at $73 per bottle. Its tasting profile features aromas of citrus, custard, and toffee, layered with notes of clove, coffee, and roasted malt—creating a rich and complex sensory experience.
The second release, Commander’s Cut, is expected to launch in November 2025, further expanding the partnership’s whiskey range.
A Keepsake for Red Bull Division Families and Friends
These whiskeys are designed to serve not only as premium spirits but also as meaningful keepsakes for current and former members of the 34th ID Red Bull, along with their families and friends. The project also aims to generate resources to support the division’s enduring legacy and fund scholarships for members and their loved ones.
Retired Colonel Chad Sackett, chapter president of the 34th ID Red Bull Commanders Chapter, highlighted the partnership’s significance: “The quality of Brother Justus whiskey, combined with their deep respect for history and tradition, provides the perfect foundation for us to work together to create something extraordinary and meaningful for current and retired military members and their families.”
He added, “What we have developed is a tribute to the history of Red Bull and a commitment by the 34th ID Red Bull to carry on that legacy.”
Looking Ahead
Brother Justus Whiskey Co. continues to build its reputation by blending craftsmanship, heritage, and purpose in its whiskeys. The collaboration with the 34th Infantry Division Association marks a meaningful chapter in honoring American military history through premium spirits.
