Northside, VA – Anytime Beer Co., formerly known as Tabol Brewing, is preparing to leave its current location at 704 Dawn St. as it prepares for a significant shift in its operations. The brewery, which recently rebranded from Tabol Brewing, is set to close the deal on the sale of its production and taproom facility to an undisclosed buyer, with plans to find a new home in central Virginia.
The sale of the brewery’s property, listed for $1.2 million, is expected to close soon. To mark the end of its time on Dawn Street, Anytime Beer Co. will host a final celebration on May 10, featuring live music and $3 beers for patrons. Afterward, the brewery will enter a brief hiatus until it secures a new location, though co-founder Travis Dise indicated that the business may temporarily outsource its beer production in the meantime.
“We’ve loved being in Northside, and we’d absolutely consider returning to the neighborhood,” Dise said. “But we’re open to exploring other locations across central Virginia. Our goal is to find the right space, whether we end up buying or renting.”
Dise and the ownership group originally purchased the 7,900-square-foot property in 2017 for $288,000, a deal that has since paid off. The most recent city assessment valued the property at $625,000, reflecting the growth of the brewery over the past eight years.
“The property value has gone up significantly since we bought it, and when we decided to sell, I was the only one handling the brewery operations. That can be overwhelming,” Dise explained. “We had a set price we’d accept for the building, and while we didn’t hit some of our big sales targets, we’re sticking to our plan.”
The brewery’s decision to move follows its rebrand from Tabol Brewing to Anytime Beer Co. last year. The name change reflected a shift in the company’s identity after six years in business. Dise explained that the original “Tabol” name, a play on the word “table,” no longer felt aligned with the brewery’s evolving brand and the growing appeal of its space, which has become popular for family gatherings and live music events.
“Our tasting room started seeing more families and events like live music,” Dise said. “Anytime Beer Co. fits who we are now. It feels like a natural evolution for the brand.”
Founded in 2017, the brewery initially focused on barrel-aged beers made with wild yeast, but its Czech pilsner quickly became the flagship beer. The company also expanded distribution across Virginia through a partnership with Reverie Distribution and developed a relationship with Fan eatery Get Tight Lounge, where its Get Tight Light lager is served.
With the neighborhood around the brewery also changing, Anytime Beer Co.’s departure coincides with ongoing development in the area. Just up the block at 711 Dawn St., plans for a four-story, 41-unit apartment complex have been in the works for years. Although the site is currently fenced off, construction has yet to begin.
As Anytime Beer Co. bids farewell to its home of six years, Dise said the brewery is excited about what lies ahead, despite the bittersweet nature of the move.
“We’re excited about the future, and we’re looking forward to our final event. Not many businesses get to choose when they close and throw a party,” Dise said. “We feel fortunate to have that opportunity.”
The brewery’s search for a new location continues, with a focus on finding a space that will accommodate its growing business and foster the same community spirit it has cultivated in Northside.
