DAVIS, Calif., May 7, 2025 — As climate change and shifting global markets reshape the wine and grape industry, the American Society for Enology and Viticulture Foundation (ASEVF) is reinforcing its commitment to fostering the next generation of experts in viticulture and enology. Established in 2023 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the foundation provides scholarships to support academic advancement and innovation within the field.
“The support from our community allows us to nurture future scientists, educators and innovators,” said ASEVF Board President Michelle Moyer.
The Foundation’s Board of Directors includes:

- James Osborne, Vice President, Oregon State University, Corvallis
- Kristen Barnhisel, Treasurer, J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines, California
- Torey Arvik, Secretary, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Resource Services
- Keith Striegler, Director, GALLO, California
- Tom Collins, Director, Washington State University, Tri-Cities
The ASEV Foundation invites public contributions year-round and during the ASEV National Conference. Donors who contribute $75 annually are recognized as members of the “75 Club,” receiving a badge sticker at the conference and listing on the Foundation’s website. Those who contribute $7,500 or more in lifetime donations are honored through the “Diamond Club.”
