Lazy Dodo has launched a new Very Superior Old Pale (VSOP) rum expression, aged for a minimum of four years. The rum was matured in a mix of French oak barrels, ex-Bourbon American oak casks, and ex-peated whisky barrels. This blend of wood types gives the rum a rich and layered character.
A Tribute to Alain Vallet’s Legacy
The launch of Lazy Dodo VSOP is a tribute to Alain Vallet, the former managing director of Grays, the company behind the brand.

Launched at Exclusive Event in Mauritius
The new VSOP rum was revealed at a private event held on 27 March at La Plage by Evaco in Trou aux Biches, Mauritius. The unveiling gathered key industry figures and media to mark the occasion.
Tasting Notes: Fruit, Spice, and a Hint of Smoke
Lazy Dodo VSOP features aromas of yellow fruits, pineapple, caramelised sugar, and sweet spices. On the palate, drinkers will notice candied orange, light smoke, cinnamon, and citrus—creating a balanced and flavorful tasting experience.
Premium Positioning in a Growing Market
As global demand for rum grows, Grays aims to place Lazy Dodo VSOP among the top-tier offerings.
