Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky has launched an exceptional limited edition single malt from its acclaimed Rarest Reserve collection, showcasing some of the company’s most revered and rare casks. This latest release features a 1982 Bowmore single malt, one of the oldest Bowmore expressions ever independently bottled by Duncan Taylor.
Distilled in 1982, Aged to Perfection
Distilled at the famed Bowmore Distillery on the rugged island of Islay, this whisky was matured in a single Pedro Ximénez sherry cask (no. 89633). Bottled on 18 April 2025, the expression boasts an ABV of 50.8% and is presented in an eye-catching 100ml bottle designed in the shape of a gold bar—a striking design first introduced by Duncan Taylor for its rare 33 and 52-year-old Macallan whiskies last year.
Tasting Notes that Celebrate Islay’s Legacy
The Bowmore 1982 reveals a complex aromatic profile, featuring ripe orchard fruit complemented by sweet hints of smokehouse, grassy florals, toffee-covered fudge, and a subtle peat smoke undertone. On the palate, it offers a harmonious blend of sea smoke, milk chocolate, peanuts, sweet spices, ginger, and cinnamon, delivering a multi-layered experience typical of a well-aged Islay malt.
Exclusive and Limited Release
Limited to just 500 bottles worldwide, this rare whisky is available exclusively via The Spirits Embassy online store. The recommended retail price for the 100ml bottle is £816 (approximately $1,093), making it an accessible option for collectors and enthusiasts who wish to experience an extraordinary cask at a fraction of the cost of a full-sized bottle.
