A new play area has been approved for The Whittle pub in Stanground, enhancing its beer garden for families. Punch Pubs, the establishment’s owner, received approval from Peterborough City Council for the project, which includes the installation of a 1.2-meter-high picket fence and soft flooring around the play equipment.
According to the application, the proposed outdoor scheme is designed to enhance the pub’s atmosphere and provide a more family-friendly experience. It is expected to create a welcoming environment for both local families and passing visitors year-round.
Although the plans did not include a public consultation, Punch Pubs expressed willingness to engage with neighbors or any interested parties to discuss the proposal.
The plans were approved by the council last week, with a statement from the local planning authority noting that they had collaborated positively and proactively with the applicant throughout the process.
