A rare whisky from Chichibu distillery has been released exclusively at Dram, a new bar opening soon in London’s Soho. The whisky comes from one of Chichibu’s smallest and most distinctive casks, known as the Peated Concerto Barley Cask.
Whisky Details and Availability
This limited edition whisky has an alcohol strength of 59.4% ABV. Only 100 bottles have been produced. Each bottle is priced at £330 (approximately $440).
Collaboration Celebrated by Industry Leaders
Martyn ‘Simo’ Simpson, co-founder of Dram, praised the partnership behind this project.
“This project represents the best of collaboration in the drinks industry: shared values, shared creativity and a shared appreciation for truly great whisky,” Simpson said.
Dram was selected by Speciality Drinks, a leading UK wholesaler in the high-end live trade sector, for its contributions to London’s whisky community.
Dram’s Upcoming Opening and Artistic Touch
Dram is scheduled to open in London in late 2023. The whisky bottle features a unique design by Raj Chavda, creative director of Speciality Brands, which distributes Chichibu whisky in the UK.
The label draws inspiration from traditional tattoo flash art. It includes striking motifs such as a coiled snake, a skull, swallows, a rose, and a Gibson guitar. These elements pay tribute to punk icon Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols, who once lived on Denmark Street — the very location of Dram in Soho.
