DENVER — The beer industry continues to be a powerful economic engine in Colorado, according to the latest Beer Serves America report released by the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) and the Beer Institute.
The biennial report highlights that Colorado’s beer sector supports more than 61,000 jobs statewide, contributing approximately $13.1 billion in economic output. It also generates $1.3 billion in taxes that fund local and state governments.
Craig Purser, president and CEO of the NBWA, emphasized the industry’s significance, particularly its role in local economies. “Beer Serves America demonstrates the incredible success of the beer industry that provides good jobs and significant economic activity in communities across the country,” he stated.
Within Colorado, more than 2,200 individuals are employed in local and independent beer and beverage distribution. The brewing sector accounts for over 6,200 jobs, while the retail segment provides nearly 19,000 positions. Additionally, the report notes 1,400 agriculture-related jobs and more than 1,500 manufacturing roles tied to the industry.
